| I find substantial satisfaction fitting rocks into
walls, paths, steps, stairways or patios, whether building afresh
or restoring remnants of previous courtyards structures from fallen
debris, random heaps of fieldstone or with quarried rock from the
region. In Central Vermont, slates schists and granite are available
to assemble handsome timeworn-looking partitions and passage ways.
These are pictures of a few stone projects i put up last season.
Several are photos of informal but steep escalating pathways onto
abrupt recesses of once almost inaccessible backyard areas, other
are restoration pictures of collapsed retaining structures, some
are of free standing or terracing walls and steps i erected from
piles of random rocks at the edges of clearings...
